2011 Food Blogger Bake Sale

Mark your calendars for May 14th 2011! We’re gearing up for the Second Annual National Food Blogger Bake Sale

(Food Blogger Bake Sale Badge/Logo created by the ever so amazing Matt Armendariz!!)

The second annual National Food Bloggers Bake Sale, will be held on May 14th 2011. Organized by Gaby Dalkin of What’s Gaby Cooking,  food bloggers from across the country will unite to end childhood hunger by holding bake sales in their states. Readers will have the opportunity to taste the baked goods from their favorite food blogs at each state’s bake sale location.

Funds raised through the Food Blogger Bake Sale support Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger in America.  Nearly one in four—children in America face hunger, that’s more than 17 million kids!! Despite the good efforts of governments, private-sector institutions and everyday Americans, millions of our children still don’t have daily access to the nutritious meals they need to live active, healthy lives. More information on Share Our Strength can be found at http://strength.org/ Last year we raised over $16,000 and this year we are shooting to raise even more!!

  1. Matt did an AWESOME job with this year’s badge! I’m thrilled to post it on my site, and very excited to be participating again, this year. Hoping to do even better than last year! Thanks, Gaby!

  2. Gaby, I am so excited to be a part of this well organized and important event. Beautiful logo by Matt!! Please let me know whenever you need my help for anything at all! xo

  3. Honey, you are incredible. Dedicated, passionate and incredibly organized. I’m so happy to know that such a super talented woman like yourself has decided to help the hungry kids out there. If anyone could feed them all, it’s you! I’m in!

  4. Can I please begin the process in Minnesota? We have an amazing and vibrant food blogging community here and I know we could move some serious goods.

  5. I would love to get involved this year. My hearts brakes every day watching the kids go without food (I get reports from my children, and for a year I fed almost every day several of the neighbors’ kids). Let me know what else I can do to help.

  6. Thank you for the post! My daughter’s cheer squad is doing a lot of bake sales to raise money for their team to buy new uniforms…which is great. But, I am hoping to get them involved in baking for other causes as well! Love the blog, too! 😉

  8. Oh! I wish I would’ve known about this. I have no idea how I missed it, but please keep me on your short list for future bakesale events. I would love to help out next time! Maybe I’ll make a visit tomorrow… :)

  9. Pingback: Open For Bids
  10. This is such an amazing thing to be doing! I wonder if anything like this happens here in Canada… I may work with a few people to get something like that going up here!
Glad there was success with this, great work!
