2011 Food Blogger Bake Sale

Mark your calendars for May 14th 2011! We’re gearing up for the Second Annual National Food Blogger Bake Sale

(Food Blogger Bake Sale Badge/Logo created by the ever so amazing Matt Armendariz!!)

The second annual National Food Bloggers Bake Sale, will be held on May 14th 2011. Organized by Gaby Dalkin of What’s Gaby Cooking,  food bloggers from across the country will unite to end childhood hunger by holding bake sales in their states. Readers will have the opportunity to taste the baked goods from their favorite food blogs at each state’s bake sale location.

Funds raised through the Food Blogger Bake Sale support Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger in America.  Nearly one in four—children in America face hunger, that’s more than 17 million kids!! Despite the good efforts of governments, private-sector institutions and everyday Americans, millions of our children still don’t have daily access to the nutritious meals they need to live active, healthy lives. More information on Share Our Strength can be found at http://strength.org/ Last year we raised over $16,000 and this year we are shooting to raise even more!!

Want to get involved? Here is how…

Check through the list below and find your hometown. See if there is already a host in your area then let me know and I can put the two of you in contact, or feel free to touch base with them yourself! If you’re in a state with no host, or want to host your own Food Blogger Bake Sale, then leave me a comment or send me an email and we will get you all set up! email me at gdalkin (at) gmail (dot) com

I would love to get involved this year. My hearts brakes every day watching the kids go without food (I get reports from my children, and for a year I fed almost every day several of the neighbors’ kids). Let me know what else I can do to help.

This is such an amazing thing to be doing! I wonder if anything like this happens here in Canada… I may work with a few people to get something like that going up here!
Glad there was success with this, great work!
