Best Fall Cookbooks

So. Let me paint you a picture. A few weeks back when I should have been making pretty things for my wedding and baking cookies to put into gift bags for our guests, I decided I should check out Amazon and see what kind of cookbooks were due to come out this fall. Little did I know that I basically added every other book to my shopping cart and spent 2 hours reading about the fabulous cooks that are publishing books in the next few months.

I’m jazzed to say the least. Now that the wedding planning is over, and I can eat whatever I want again because I don’t need to fit into my dress, I’m so excited to get back into the kitchen and cook up a storm!

So, here’s the deal. I picked my 10 most favorite titles that are due out this fall. Some of them were just released, and others are coming out in the next month or so. And I love each and every one of them. And can’t wait to get my hands on them too! And I feel like you should have them too. So let’s do a little giveaway shall we? Just peruse the books that are below, and pick your most favorite one or the one that looks the most like you, leave a comment telling me which cookbook is totally your jam and when I get back from my honeymoon on September 10th, I’ll pick 3 winners and mail ya the books of your choice!!

I’m obsessed with Yotam. I’m pretty sure if we met in real life we would be great friends. I mean, I love all of his food, so I would just assume that we’d be friends in real life too. Don’t ya think? :) His last cookbook, Plenty, was the inspiration behind so many of my pre-wedding meals. His food is clean, healthy and always flavorful! I can’t wait to dig into his latest!

I think I was meant to spend half of the year in Mexico. I’m just obsessed with Mexican cuisine. (I mean, guacamole in particular – but I love everything else too!) This cookbook, by Hugo Ortega just screamed my name when I came across it on Amazon. I think a street food adventure in Mexico sounds like something I was meant to do!

  1. My number one favorite would be the Picky Palate cookbook by Jenny Flake. Who could compete with Oreo stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies?

My second favorite would be Street Food of Mexico.

  2. Oh, it’s all about the Smitten Kitchen book for me. I discovered the blog last year, and I’m still working my way through the archives. I can’t WAIT for this cookbook!!!

  3. The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook! I’ve been following Deb for years and I’m so happy her cookbook is FINALLY coming out! I can’t wait to see what she invented in there.

  4. Wow. This is an AMAZING list of cookbooks! The Sprouted Kitchen appeals to me most because it appears to take simple ingredients and make them into decadent masterpieces! Healthy cooking can be so bland (a grilled piece of chicken and a side of broccoli) and I’d love to learn how to use fresh, healthy ingredients to make more interesting meals. I’d also like to try some new vegetables and what better way than with a fun recipe from a great cookbook!?!

  5. I am so, so excited for the Smitten Kitchen cookbook. Almost everything that I make and subsequently get requests from the family to make again is from her website. I’m sure I will love the book just as much!

  6. The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook would be my first choice because I love Deb, her writing and her recipes. Aida’s Keys to the Kitchen and the Pure Vanilla cookbooks also speak to me. Can you tell that I love cookbooks? It would be absolutely wonderful to win any one of them!

  7. Cannot express how excited I am for the Smitten Kitchen cookbook, I’ve followed the blog for years. Deb gets dinner on my table!

  8. Without a doubt the book I covet is Deb Perelman’s, The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook. Her blog was one of the first food blogs I ever visited. Her pictures render even food I don’t care for, drool worthy…

  9. I awaited with so much anticipation Deb’s recipes as soon as they are posted as much as I long for another picture of Jacob <3

  10. Pure Vanilla… I love that vanilla is so common yet you can do so much with it! I want to get *good* vanilla, nad this book would be the perfect excuse!

  11. I would love to have a copy of The Smitten Kitchen! Her website is fabulous and I’ve never made a recipe of hers that wasn’t fantastic. Thanks!

  12. Smitten Kitchen!! I’ve been following her blog for years, ever since a friend made Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes- mmmmmm they were good! Her blueberry boy bait is a summer staple in my kitchen, and I wouldn’t even know about shakshuka if not for her.

  13. been reading smitten kitchen for a few years and every single cake i’ve made since has come from that site. that book is a must-have in my apartment. congrats on the wedding, btw.

  15. What a tough pick, those all look amazing.

I’d love Muy Bueno for the Mexican side of my family & Jerusalem: A Cookbook for the Israeli side of my family! You should then come over for a potluck, our food is amazing. 😉

Congratulations on your wedding. I will give you the advice that was given to me on my wedding day, by my favorite aunt:

Love each other deeply. Even when it’s difficult, just love each other deeply. It will carry you through anything that comes your way.

  16. Love love love Ottonlenghi. I have heard great things about Jerusalem and can’t wait to get my hands on it and start cooking.

  17. true foods , spourted kitchen and smitten kitchen would all be near the top of my list – but really they all look interesting for different reasons.

  18. Aida Mollenkamps’s cookbook, “Keys to the Kitchen” is rocking!:) I love everything about it! Her style of cooking is simple yet complex in taste. The combinations she puts together, makes me want to get into the Kitchen and cook. To me her book is the winner hands down! I could go on and on! Go, Aida! :)

Thanks for letting us into your world and providing it to us food lovers in the world! :)

  19. Thanks for the giveaway. I’m torn between Smitten Kitchen and Picky Palate. They both sound great. You choose

  20. The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook would be the ultimate prize for me. I stumbled upon her blog a few months ago and I was enjoying it so much I went back and read the entire thing from the beginning! This would just be the icing on a very delicious self baked (possibly monkey shaped) cake.

  21. I would love the Keys to the Kitchen cookbook. I tend to cook the same things all the time and would love to master new cooking techniques. Pure Vanilla looks wonderful too!

Congratulations on getting married! Thanks for a great giveaway!

  22. I visited my sister, who recently moved to London, and was enchanted by Ottolenghi while I was there. His restaurants were a delight for every sense. I am just finishing my degree in education and my life is turning the corner from student to independent adult. I would love to have Jerusalem. It is a cookbook unlike anything I have in my meagre collection of Joy of Cooking and Rachael Ray. Thank you for all your lovely recipes and congratulations on your nuptials!!
