Strawberry Blackberry Margarita

Cinco de Mayo is in just 1 short week!!! Can you believe it! It’s one of my favorite holidays in the month of May. Well, that’s mostly because there aren’t really any other holidays in May that involve drinking large quantities of Margaritas and eating obscene amounts of guacamole all day long, but that is besides the point! Have I mentioned that I can consume an abnormal amount of guacamole in one sitting – I attribute that to being from the Southwest!

I come from Tucson, AZ where Cinco de Mayo was always a big deal. My friends and I were professional Margarita drinkers and makers. We learned from our parents as tequila just seems like the natural choice of alcohols in Arizona. Because of the dessert and the cactus ya know – it just seems right! This Strawberry Blackberry Margarita is one of my newest creations and it is just the right balances the sweet and sour tones with the tequila.

Ingredients:
2 large oranges, seeds and peel removed and sectioned
15 strawberries, tops removed
10 large blackberries
7 shots Hornitos Reposado
7 shots Sweet and Sour
3 shots Triple Sec

Directions
Combine the orange slices, strawberries, blackberries, Hornitos, Sweet and Sour and Triple Sec into a large pitcher. Using an immersion blender, puree the mixture until it becomes smooth and all the fruit has been broken down. Serve with or without ice cubes (depending on how fast you plan to drink it!)

You’re killing me with these, I would like one now! However, I doubt my coworkers would think as highly of me if I did.

Ooh, I’ll take one! That looks like an excellent margarita. I love how fruity it is. Too bad I don’t think it would travel so well to the East Coast.

So glad to hear you will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with this refreshing, fruity margarita. If you have a few you have fulfilled your fruit servings for the day, right??? These drinkys would go very well with my Fiesta Pasta! xo
