You guys. I can’t even handle the fact that tomorrow is November. Where on earth did this year go?! Before you know it, it’s going to be 2013 and that’s just plain weird. Right? Tell me I’m not alone in this one. Because 2013 means that I will have officially been out of college for 5 years. And it also means my 10 year high school reunion is fast approaching. I don’t feel old enough to go to a high school reunion yet. I still wake up and have my mom make me breakfast when I’m home in Seattle.
Oh by the way, Happy Halloween!
Halloween totally fell off my radar this year. Whoops. No costume parties for me this year. Tonight you’ll find me on the couch with a big mug of tea and I’ll be watching Modern Family and Nashville. I think those are absolutely acceptable ways to celebrate todays holiday right?
Anyways, enough babbling. I’m super excited to share with you some news!! I’ve spent the past few months working with Spice Islands and developing a boat load of fun holiday themed recipes for them because I’m going to be this seasons Flavor Explorer!! To say I’m excited is an understatement. When I first got my shipment of the entire line of spices from Spice Islands, I was literally like a kid on Christmas, ripping through all the boxes and organizing my new toys in my cabinet! I’m still not entirely sure what the best way is to organize 100+ spices, but I promise to figure it out soon and share my organizational skills 🙂
I’ve come up with a ton of fun ideas on how to incorporate spices into some important events that most of us will be celebrating in the coming weeks! To kick things off, I decided we should start with something easy. (and easy to snack on, too!) Chili Lime Roasted Cashews are the name of the game.
We had these by the bucket load while we were honeymooning in Mexico. They were delicious. A touch spicy and zesty, they were the perfect way to start a meal. So I recreated these at home and absolutely love them! And I’m equally as obsessed with how they will make your kitchen smell. I feel like I should maybe make a fresh batch of roasted nuts before I have people over because your house just smells so inviting!!
So without further ado… let’s make some nuts shall we!
Hop on over to Spice Islands for the recipe!
