Gaby's Guide to Italy

It’s HERE! It’s happening! Gaby’s Guide to Italy is ready to go!

Gaby's Guide to Italy

We returned about a month ago and we’ve been slaving away over images and Thomas has been making the most epic video ever! We made quite the dent in Italy, ate more than our fair share of pasta and pizza, topped every night off with gelato, and lived to tell the tale! I came home a few lbs heavier than when I left but whatever... it was worth it! I can’t wait to go back and continue to explore other areas! BUT in the meantime, I know a lot of you are heading over there in the next few months so here is EVERYTHING we did. I’ve broken it up by city and within each guide there are plenty of places to eat and drink, all the things we stopped to see or do, and our favorite hotels for each city!

  1. Hi! I'm new to your blog, so I'm just reading this recap now. I head to Tuscany and Rome in September and would love to know whether you brought home any food products from Italy? Any you would recommend?

    1. Didn't bring anything home since I don't check my luggage - but ALL the things while I was there 🙂

  2. Thanks for all your europe travel tips we and our sons and their girlfriends are all going and using your tips as guides. Love the recipes always. Cheers Sue (from down under)

  3. Hey Gaby! Would love to know the flow of your trip - which city you started in, where you went next, and how you got to each city. Thank you!

    1. We did Florence, Positano, Ravello and then Rome!! Train and car service everywhere! Hotels set up the car service as needed. LMK any other questions!

    2. Thank you!! Would you have done anything differently in hindsight? More or fewer days in any of the cities?

  4. Gaby - I need your packing guide! What did you take, what shoes did you wear, and how did you get it all in a carry-on bag? I know on snap you said that you managed to get through with no lululemon! lol! my hubby and I are heading to Florence, Venice and Cinque Terre in 2 weeks!

    1. Let's see..... I brought a bunch of lightweight dresses that I could wear from day to night and throw a leather jacket on top of. I brought some jean shorts and t-shirts! Sneakers. Sandals. and that's pretty much it when it comes to clothing! Then bathing suits, toiletries, bras etc... But lots of dresses that roll up into basically nothing were KEY!!

    2. Thanks so much for the reply!!! What brand sandals did you take - were they comfy for long walking days?

    3. They were Sam Edelman and no they weren't comfy enough for a full day of walking. They worked when it was just a few hours here and there - but I wish I had worn sneakers around Rome!

  5. P.S. I'm getting ready to go to Italy on my honeymoon and all of these posts are going to be so helpful! Can't wait! 🙂

  6. I loved following along on snapchat and I love that it is all in a video now!! amazing trip- amazing couple!
