Gaby's Guide to Rhode Island is ready to roll! And while we didn't quite cover the entire state, we did a LOT! Here you go!

Gaby's Guide to Rhode Island (and a little bit of Connecticut)

Earlier this summer we headed out to Ocean House for a What's Gaby Cooking dinner party and it was PURE MAGIC. I haven't been on the east coast for the summer in a few years and I forgot how magical it is. The breeze, the food, the vibe, the people... it was lovely. Below you'll find our favorite places we ate, stay, drink etc! AND a video if you want the play by play!

Ocean House - the chicest hotel in the area! Thats's where we hosted the WGC dinner and it was beyond lovely. The property is gorgeous and you could easily stay for weeks at a time and live your best life.
Weekapaug Inn - the sister property to Ocean House is equally as special and a little bit more casual! They also have a champagne shack on the property that does an incredible lunch over looking the pond!
Sift Bake Shop - best chocolate chip cookies in the area! Brownies are pretty bomb too
Ford's Lobsters - okay so it's not technically in RI, but it's a 15 minute drive and it's the best lobster rolls in the area. Worth it!

Oyster Club - We're all heard of farm to table - but what about boat to table! This boat-to-table New England seafood spot is not to be missed.
St. Clair Annex - omg GO FOR THE ICE CREAM! They have food too - but their ice cream flavors are amazing.
Olympia Tea Room - if you're in need of a Lobster Roll around Watch Hill and want to hop off the Ocean House property... this is your place!!
The Cooked Goose - super cute little cafe for breakfast right by the Ocean House! Ride your bikes over and park it for the morning!!
Matunuck Oyster Bar - we were able to sneak in a quick trip to Matunuck on our way out of town for lunch and grabbed a dozen oysters! Best oysters in the state!

  1. This was the best time! I hope you do this again at some point because it was a perfect setting for your book launch and I would love to come back and see you!!! I just wanted to let you know that a cute little book shop in Madison, CT called R.J. Julias is big on book tours if you're looking for a place that is quaint and easy to get to! Can't wait for the new cookbook Gaby!!!!

  2. I personally like The Andrea
The Haversham, The Hitching Post, The Breachway Grill, The cooked Goose,
    The Malted Barley
To name a few. Go local. Go where the locals dine. Watch Hill is beautiful for a romantic dinner but mad expensive. If you have the money Ocean House beautiful

  3. So many more places for you to see in RI! Watch Hill is gorgeous but so expensive!! Head to some of the many other treasures in this state next time! Providence is Italian food heaven. And let me know if you want a tour!

    1. Kim, Please post some affordable ideas. I’d love to visit RI this September. I’m coming from NJ. Thanks!
