I’ve dubbed this year the year of entertaining – the year of inviting everyone over for an impromptu drink and some nibbles. (Hello, bruschetta bar!) Or packing up the party and heading to the park for a leisurely afternoon with friends. So clearly sangria is in order!

Sangria 101

The last few years for us have been nuts. From getting married to writing a cookbook to new jobs and everything else in-between, Thomas and I decided that this year we want to do a bit more entertaining. That doesn’t mean slowing down one bit, because I’d go crazy if I sat still for more than 2 minutes, it just means getting our acts together and hosting a little more frequently! Talk to any one of my regular dinner party guests and you’ll know that every party starts with some kind of cocktail! These last few weeks I’ve been working with Simply Juice Drinks to celebrate the launch of their latest flavors – Fruit Punch, Tropical and Mixed Berry! Obviously that’s grounds for some recipe development and some new drinks! I whipped up a duo of sangrias – so there’s a little something for everyone depending on if you prefer red or white sangria! And just to add an extra bit of sparkle, there are some super cute ice cubes that basically need to make an appearance on every day of my life from here on out!

So let’s cheers to the weekend with either of these sangrias or a batch of the super fab ice cubes (that you could literally use in anything – but I HIGHLY suggest lemonade!! Yes please) and enjoy the new Simply Juice Drink flavors!
