Citrus and Basil Sangria

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 10 basil leaves
  • 1 bottle of sauvignon blanc
  • 1 blood orange sliced
  • 1 cara cara orange sliced
  • 1 tangelo or tangerine sliced
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries tops removed and sliced
  • 1 meyer lemon skin peeled and cut into 2 inch strips
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1 cup blood orange italian soda or any italian soda flavor you prefer
  • 1/4 cup fresh tangerine juice
Instructions
  1. Combine the water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the basil leaves. Let the basil infuse the simple syrup for 20 minutes while the mixture cools.
