Ingredients

  • 1 cup ripe strawberries, green tops removed
  • ½ inch Jalapeño pepper
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 2 teaspoons agave nectar
  • 4 ounces silver tequila
  • sparkling water to top

Instructions

  • Combine the strawberries and jalapeño pepper in a small blender and blend until smooth. Strain if you prefer but I’m lazy and usually don't bother. Pour the contents of the blender in a shaker.
  • Add the lime juice, agave nectar and tequila and a handful of ice. Secure the lid on the shaker and shake for 30-60 seconds to mix and chill the margarita
  • Strain the juice out and serve over ice with a splash of sparkling water

Notes

The recipe below makes enough for roughly 2 margaritas, but lets be honest, if you've having friends over, you might want to 4x the recipe!! And the best way to batch this cocktail is in the blender. Blending together those beautiful summer strawberries with jalapeños is quick and easy and then all you have to do is basically add in your tequila. Here's a pro tip: this strawberry jalapeño mixture will freeze beautifully so if you want to make a big batch and then freeze some of the juice in ice cube trays, you can use that all fall/winter long for fresh strawberry margs! You are WELCOME!
