This classic affogato recipe pairs hot espresso with creamy vanilla ice cream for an easy Italian dessert that is elegant, quick, and irresistible.

- 2 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream (Tillamook is my favorite)
- 1 ounce hot espresso
- Flaky sea salt optional but encouraged
- Chocolate shavings or finely chopped chocolate optional but encouraged
- Crushed amaretti cookies optional but encouraged
Scoop the vanilla ice cream into a chilled serving glass or bowl.
Brew a fresh shot of espresso.
Pour the hot espresso directly over the ice cream. Finish with flaky sea salt, chocolate shavings, or crushed amaretti cookies if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy.
