- 1 package yeast 2 ¼ teaspoons
- 2 tablespoons warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup almond milk
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 vanilla pod halved and scraped
- 1 egg plus 1 yolk reserve extra egg white
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons fresh ground cardamom
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the filling
- ⅓ cup butter softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 tbsp. warm milk
- 3 tsp. cinnamon
Powdered Sugar for dusting
These can be made ahead and frozen, then gently reheated in the toaster oven to serve.
