About Gaby

Hi! I'm Gaby. I'm a two time New York Times bestselling cookbook author, chef, entrepreneur, mom of two, and the founder of What's Gaby Cooking: your one-stop shop for all things delicious, easy, fresh, and fun. I live in Los Angeles with my husband Thomas, our kids Poppy and Finn, and a pantry that's way too full of chocolate chips.

The Backstory

Back in 2009, I started What's Gaby Cooking as a way to keep track of the recipes I loved. I was fresh out of culinary school and completely obsessed with cooking, eating, hosting, and dreaming up ways to make food feel exciting but never complicated. Fast-forward a few years, and WGC has grown into a full-blown lifestyle brand centered around California-style living: think vibrant recipes, easy entertaining, family-style dinners, backyard grilling, and travel recs for people who plan their vacations around where they're eating (same).

The Books, The Blends, The Brick&Mortar

I've written five cookbooks… most recently What's Gaby Cooking: Grilling, which debuted in May 2024 and hit the New York Times Best Seller list right away. Before that came Everyday California Food, Eat What You Want, and Take It Easy. Each one packed with the kind of food I actually make at home.

In 2023, I launched Dalkin&Co., a collection of pantry staples and spice blends that help you get flavor-packed meals on the table fast. And in 2024, I opened Gaby's at the Neighborly food hall in Westlake Village, a restaurant that brings everything I love about California cooking to life. Come hungry.
