Why I Love This Recipe
I know it's a bold statement, but I think these Peppermint Oreo Truffles may just be better than slutty brownies. I know. It’s crazy. But they will literally rock your world.
Most truffle recipes require tempering chocolate and it takes a while... these are made with oreos, cream cheese and chocolate and come together VERY quickly. They are the perfect treat to make for any holiday parties or last minute office pot lucks! Plus they are the easiest things to make on earth, even easier than brigadeiros.
Make these immediately. And give them to your friends, family and neighbors. Oh and your boss... basically a guaranteed raise. You just need Oreo’s, cream cheese and some white and dark chocolate for dipping. See? Easy.
If you can’t find peppermint cookies, you can use regular Oreo’s and throw in a ¼ teaspoons of peppermint extract to give it that minty bite. The cookies and cream cheese go into a food processor and then less than 1 minute later you’ll have the insides gooey deliciousness that is going to make your truffle. From there, you just roll them into bite sized balls, chill them to harden them up, and then dip them in chocolate and drizzle with more chocolate. Done. Put them in your mouth and be happy. Trust me on this one. You need to make these immediately.
Let's talk nitty gritty when it comes to storing these things!

Hi, these sound great! What do you mean by 'package' ? Like, one of those sleeves ?
How many Truffles does this recipe make?
about 20!
So sticky and falling apart when I dip them in the warm chocolate???????
Any suggestions to this
Hi Tina! You could form them into the balls and then refrigerate them for 30 minutes so they chill a bit - and then dip them into the chocolate!
Gaby, I discovered these last holiday season and they were a big, big hit. I also had to get them out of the house as quickly as possible because, after tasting just one, I knew I could finish the entire batch myself in less than 30 minutes.!
ditto!!! I have to hand them out asap!
These sound so awesome!
Thanks Katrina!
These would definitely rock my fiance's world. He loves anything Oreo!
YUMMM
Do you refrigerate or freeze the oreo balls before you coat them in chocolate? I tried a few and they all fell apart.
Oh Man! These look absolutely fantastic. I am headed to TJ's tomorrow and they better still have these. I am already drooling!
these are pure genius and i'm so obsessed. they're so dangerous looking cause they're so mouth-friendly poppable!!
Oh man! I totally loved the slutty brownies. And now these?! Peppermint makes everything better!
I'm sorry, but if I even thought of purchasing Peppermint Jo Jo's and trying to hide them for some wonderful thing like this, my kids would sniff them out and the box would be gone and only crumbs left. Too bad TJ's isn't open at midnite when they're sleeping!!!!
Sounds delish - going to try tonight!!!
I knew I should have worked up a recipe when I bought those Joe Joe's a few weeks ago. Those things were pretty dangerous to have around...
Although in truffle form it probably would have been even worse! They look gorgeous, Gaby.
These look SO good! I'm headed to Trader Joe's this weekend and I'll definitely be picking up their Candy Cane Joe-Joe's so that I can make these. Thanks, Gaby!!
I am also headed to TJ's to get some. Question...it looks as though you dipped the entire ball in the chocolate but the recipe says dip 1/2.?
These look great- I make something similar and I want to try these!
