Sheet pan dinners... it's pretty much the easiest way to get dinner on the table without making a mess and having 239047 dishes to do at the end of the night. This Sheet Pan Broiled Salmon is currently my everything for many reasons.

First - it's fast. Like so fast. You can come home, marinade the salmon for 30 minutes while you have a glass of wine, get some work done, change into your comfy clothes etc... you get the idea. Once the salmon is marinated, it goes onto the sheet pan and into the oven. 10 minutes later... dinner.

Second - if you didn't gather that I'm obsessed with Broccolini, you've clearly been MIA. I'm obsessed. It's so versatile, takes on any flavor and it's just more fun that regular broccoli. It's the base of this sheet pan dinner and it's perfect. You could also do just about any other vegetable that you preferred. The key to broiling veggies on this sheet pan dinner is making sure they are long and skinny so they broil quickly. I've done it with green beans - easy. Sliced carrots - yes please. You get the idea.

Third (and lastly) - there's barely any clean up! If you want to make it even easier to clean up, place a sheet of tin foil on the bottom of your baking sheet before broiling the veggies and the fish. That way, when you're done, you can just crumble up the tin foil and toss it. Feels pretty easy right.... that's because it is!

So next time you need dinner on the table in 20 minutes or less... make this!! And you could even make the marinade ahead of time and just pop the fish into it after work!

  • 3 garlic cloves roughly chopped
  • 1 shallot finely diced

  • 4 8-ounce skin-on center-cut salmon fillets

Instructions

  • In a small bowl whisk together the garlic, shallot, lime juice, soy sauce, honey and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper place in a zip top plastic bag and add half of marinade. Seal bag, removing as much air as possible and let the salmon sit for 30-60 minutes. Reserve remaining marinade.
  • Preheat broiler.
  • Toss the broccolini with remaining olive oil on small baking sheet and transfer to the oven. Broil until lightly charred, about 5 minutes. Remove salmon from marinade and nestle on top of the broccolini. Spoon ½ of the remaining marinade over and place back under the broiler until the salmon is charred around edges, about 6 minutes.
  • Spoon the rest of the marinade over the top and add the sliced scallions and sliced Fresno chile. Broil, about 2 minutes more until the salmon is charred and medium at thickest part. Let rest for a few minutes for any residual cooking and serve.

This is one of the simplest, best salmon recipes I have made. I used regular broccoli because I had a big bag from Sams. I also bought the salmon there, Atlantic frozen, individually packed. I cut the broccoli in half and made dinner for 1. Not a fan of leftovers so this will be easy to do any time.

I became a fan about a year ago and have been using your recipes 1 or 2 times a week (sometimes more) ever since. I love cooking new things and so I don’t really have things on regular rotation. This sheet pan salmon was so freaking good I can’t wait to make it again. And again. And again. This is one recipe that WILL go into regular rotation! Thank you.

I LOVE this marinade, which was so fast and easy to whip up! I couldn’t find broccolini at the store and just made the salmon with a side of asparagus instead. I had never just broiled salmon and it turned out perfectly and so delicious due to the yummy glaze the marinade created!

This is the best salmon we’ve ever had! From a very picky husband, who orders salmon at nice restaurants wherever we go- there were phrases like “this is outstanding, so much flavour, so juicy, perfectly cooked”.

In addition to the amazing flavours, this recipe is minimal prep, super easy clean up. All easy to find ingredients. I marinated the salmon for just 30 minutes.

    Don’t delay.
    Make this recipe ASAP!

Note: for anyone like me with a broiler that wants you to pick high or low, I went with high- but I had the salmon on a rack at middle height. Kept an eye on it and it was perfect. Big thanks to Gaby for actually answering that question for me via DM while I was mid recipe!

    1. Thanks for posting this - was the exact information I was checking the comments for.

Such a great recipe - delicious and so quick to pull together!

Basically the only salmon marinade you’ll ever need. It was delicious, very flavorful in a short amount of time. I baked the salmon, not as caramelized on the top as broiling but still great. Gaby doesn’t steer you wrong!

  6. Have the fixings for this! Totally making it tonight & I haven’t even had my first cup of morning coffee & i’ve got sick kiddos & it’s been a lot of icky sick & I’m still so excited to make this salmon!!! Can’t wait!

  7. Even w/o the broccolini. This got raves! Our 2-year-old granddaughter eat her salmon, but everyone else, ages 5 to we-shall-not mention, loved it. I bought 1.5 lbs., and got 1.6, which was was barely enough for this highly popular dish. My son, the father of the grand-tots at the table , added a little honey to the salmon once the kids were served, and 1 of them thought that was great! 🙂

  8. Hello! I love all your recipes and can't wait to try this one!
Quick Question - my broiler has a low and a high setting, would the high setting be better for this recipe?

  9. This is the perfect one pan, no dishes go to dinner!! I think I will do a combination of vegetables! So pretty and colorful!
