Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats are hands down some of the most delectable treats I have ever eaten. Not to mention super easy and a total crowd pleaser. They are almost like regular homemade rice krispie treats but the addition of chocolate chips and cocoa powder takes these treats over the top and boy are they satisfying.
A few weeks ago at Blogher Food I finally got to meet the fabulous women behind Three Many Cooks. Omg. They are fabulous!! And so is their new book Perfect One-Dish Dinners: All You Need for Easy Get-Togethers by Pam Anderson of Three Many Cooks. And the best part about these recipes besides the fact that they are delicious, is that they are all made in 1 pot!! Can we say total time saver on dishes!! Pam makes cooking and entertaining, no matter what day of the week, a pleasure as she pairs appetizers, main courses and desserts in her latest cookbook.
This past week I decided to throw a little one dish dinner party for some of my friends here in LA! I made numerous dishes from their book including the Beef Carnitas (amazing), guacamole (most favorite dish on the entire planet) and ceviche (who doesn't love an awesome ceviche!) ... and to polish the meal off I treated my guests to these Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats. Holy cow. Life changing deliciousness was the result. You absolutely have to make these immediately!!
And... to make that task super easy, I am giving away 3 copies of Perfect One-Dish Dinners: All You Need for Easy Get-Togethers

- In a large skillet melt the butter over medium high heat and add the marshmallows and continue to stir until melted. Add the cocoa powder and whisk until smooth. Remove skillet from heat and add the rice krispies and ⅓ cup of the chocolate chips. Use a spatula to incorporate the mixture. Transfer the mixture into the prepare baking pan and spread out evenly. Sprinkle with the remaining chocolate chips. Let set for about 15 minutes until cool and then dig in!
Because I'm Hungarian my one-dish meal would be goulash-soup! 🙂
I love ceviche, and these look like a great end to any meal, but definitely to a Latin-inspired one.
Mmmm... these are just in time for Halloween AND my sweet tooth!
I would have to say my favorite one dish meal is crepes -- savory (mushroom and onion) are my favorite, but sweet crepes (like strawberries and whipped cream) often show up as the main dish at my house as well 😉
Oh snap! Can I get a box full pretty please. Wow...the boys are going to flip when I make those.
These look amazing Gaby!! I have a big sweet tooth that these would fix perfectly! My favorite one dish meal right now is chili, especially since it is getting so cold!
I'm pretty sure I would eat all of these by myself. 😉
My favorite one-dish meal is really one-pot; soup.
Ohhhh, you are making me wish I made this today - craving some crunch and sweet
My kids would go BONKERS for these! YUMMY!
Uhm, Gaby, your photo made my mouth water. I *just* finished getting through a dozen of the Rolo cookies over on Jamie from MyBakingAddiction's blog, and now I'm going to have to pull out my One Dish Dinners book and make these. Amazing.
I already follow you on twitter (my handle is @handleheat)
🙂
My favorite one dish meal is brownies. Yes I count that as a meal. These chocolate rice krispies look delish!
This dessert looks beautiful and tasty. I will have to try to make them soon. Unless I can get you to send them my way... let me know!
My girls will go nuts for this! *ahem* and of course, I'll partake as well! YUM!
I LOVE rice krispie treats and don't make them often enough. I can justify eating the whole batch myself by saying they are just air, so I guess it is okay.
My favorite one dish wonder is a self-crusting vegetable quiche. My absolute favorite is cauliflower, but asparagus ranks right up there.
