What's Gaby Cooking Cookbook Club

It's happening!! The What's Gaby Cooking Cookbook Club is here! After snapping a few weeks ago about an actual cookbook club I joined, I got so many snaps back from people loving the idea I decided that we should all do one together! BRILLIANT RIGHT? I'd like to think so 🙂

Here it goes! Each month I'll announce the cookbook of the month and then we can buy it, borrow it, check it out from the library and cook! Cook by yourself, invite your friends over, host your own cookbook club with the assigned book, whatever floats your boat. The idea is for us all to cook recipes from the same book in the same month. Pick one or two or three recipes. Whatever you can manage! THEN... for one of my Facebook Live posts (every Wednesday at 11am PST) we'll cook a recipe from the cookbook together and you guys can tune in, share your own pics from the recipes you've made, share your friends photos, you name it!!

We can talk in real time about the cookbooks, what we loved about certain recipes, what we didn't love, what worked, what didn't.... the whole nine yards. And then we'll do it all again the next month. How fun is this? We get to virtually eat our way through a different cookbook every single month. I'm so jazzed about this idea and I hope you will be too. So here's the first book for the inaugural What's Gaby Cooking Cookbook Club!

Alton Brown: EveryDayCook!! Alton's recipes are always incredible, properly tested and are all things I'd actually eat! In case you're not familiar with him, he had a show on Food Network for 15 years, Good Eats, he hosted Iron Chef America (which was legit my favorite show of all times and I always thought I'd make an excellent contestant), not to mention he hosted Feasting on Asphalt and somewhere in between all that he has written seven other books. AND he still does Cutthroat Kitchen too! Needless to say, the man is busy! His new cookbook EveryDayCook is perfection. The recipes, the images, the stories behind every recipe, I'm obsessed. So it's the perfect way to start cookbook club. I mean, EnchiLasagna” or “Lasagnalada”, Open Sesame Noodles, and Chocapocalypse Cookies! ITS HAPPENING! (ps it's $21 on amazon and has a photo for every single recipe which is a major score!)

So let's do it! Here's the link to the book on Amazon (EveryDayCook) if you want to have it delivered or go grab it from your local bookstore or library! I'm starting to cook my way through tonight!! Feel free to leave any comments here if you have questions. On Wednesday October 26th at 11am PST let's all plan on tuning into Facebook live and discuss!

PS.... when you make something from the book, if you post it on insta use the hashtag #WGCcookbookclub so we can see!!

PPS.... I have big plans for the #WGCcookbookclub - how fun would it be to travel around the country some months and do actual #WGCcookbookclub dinners in real life! Stay tuned.

PPS - if you think a weekend Facebook live for this might be better - please sound off in the comments below and I'll do whatever majority rules. Eeeeeeeek! So excited!!!

  2. I LOVE this! Ordering now. Can't wait. I think the traveling idea is so neat! Sign me up! Maybe we could travel to you too!

  3. Yay, Gaby!! I am so excited and can't wait to get started. Question (you may have already said this!) Do we start from the beginning and cook through or just cook the ones that look good to us?! Cant wait to start my collection!! Thank you!! xx

  4. Yet another amazing idea! Cooking fun new things has been put on the back burner since grad school started. This will give me a reason not to get boring about our meals! I'm so in. Thanks for this, Gaby!

  5. This is such a clever and creative idea!! Such a fun way to bring people together over a shared love of cooking and eating good food.

  6. I love this for so many reasons. 1. I do believe it is the perfect excuse to buy a new cookbook every month. 2. It's also going to get my to branch out and actually COOK out of a cookbook each month. This is going to be so cool! Maybe every few months or so we can submit cookbook ideas and do a People's Choice!
