Let's just say this - if San Miguel de Allende isn't on your to-do list.... ADD IT IMMEDIATELY. This beautiful, bright, hospitable, charming and delicious city shot right up to the top of my list after the last WGC retreat and I cannot wait to get back.

After 5 days in SMA (short for San Miguel de Allende) and countless meals, here's where we landed with our recommendations. Below you'll find all our favorite places to eat and drink! When it comes to where to stay - we stayed at the Rosewood as that is where we hosted the WGC retreat and it was absolute perfection top to bottom. The staff was warm and welcoming, the rooms are stunning, the brunch spread on Sundays is epic and we loved every minute of the hotel! Ok - let's dive into the other goods SMA has to offer...

Ki'bok Coffee - one of the most recommended places to grab a cup of coffee - it didn't disappoint!

Lavanda Café de Especialidad - hands down my favorite coffee and breakfast spot while we were in town. Absolutely must if you're a coffee snob!

PANIO - another cute bakery / coffee spot!

La Cabra Iluminada - chic coffee and eats!

Rosewood San Miguel de Allende - great for Sunday brunch. Absolutely not to be missed

Marsala - about great Sunday brunch option! Not really open for breakfasts on the other days, but Sunday you should absolutely go!

Tostévere - perhaps my favorite dinner - this Tapas style restaurant had the most insane steak tostadas that rocked our world.

The Restaurant - one of our favorite meals of the entire trip! Plus the restaurant is gorgeous and in this cute patio with an open roof. Love the little boutique attached to the restaurant too.

La Única San Miguel de Allende - epic rooftop view and a great place to grab drinks!

Los Milagros - a very lively restaurant right in the heart of the city with live music and BIG plates of food! Poppy thrived here!

Inside Cafe - so technically this is open for breakfast too and the food was fantastic!! Highly recommend the Chilaquiles

  1. Thank you! Tostevere was perfect. Great atmosphere, drinks and food. We don't usually eat red meat but ordered the sirloin tostada and it was definitely worth It!

  2. So glad you enjoyed it! My husband and I bought a house and retired there 10 years ago, as did several other friends of ours . We have rented our house for the past two years and returned to Toronto for medical reasons. But we’ll be back San Miguel! It truly is magical and all the restaurants you mentioned … spot on!
