Boulevardier Spritz

Why I Love This Recipe

If you've ever had a Boulevardier before, you know it's a cocktail made of whiskey, sweet vermouth and Campari! I gave it a bit of a spin and used Bourbon and added a splash of sparkling water to make it a Boulevardier Spritz! Boulevardier's were big in the late 1920s in Paris (chic) and have recently had a resurgence here in the states. And lemme tell you, they are excellent. It's a bit of a spin on a Negroni and I know you'll all love these for Thanksgiving!

Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Bourbon - our current favorite is Four Roses
  • Campari
  • Sweet Vermouth - look for this one!
  • Orange twist
  • Sparkling Water
Boulevardier Spritz

How to Make

  • Add ice to a glass until it is nearly full. Pour in the Bourbon followed by the Campari and Sweet Vermouth and give it a quick stir.
  • Top your drink off with a splash of sparkling water and add a slice of orange or an orange twist.

Tips & Tricks

This is a pretty straight forward cocktail recipe but two quick tips coming your way. First - the Bourbon is interchangeable with Whiskey in this recipe. Pick your favorite. Second, you're more than welcome to scale this up and batch it into a pitcher. My only suggestion there would be to add the sparkling water as you pour drinks for people so it doesn't fall flat.

Any sparking water is great but I have to tell you that the Blood Orange Tangerine Spindrift is exceptional and a welcome burst of flavor.
