Why I Love This Recipe

This gorgeous pineapple margarita is perfection. Made with a combo of pineapple juice, orange juice and lime juice plus a splash of tequila and some sparkling water, it's the perfect refreshing cocktail. And we're making them extra jazzy with a combo of salt + Tajin on the rim of the glass. Tajin, for those of you who have yet to try one of my favorite flavors, is a combo of chile peppers and lime!! So imagine adding that to some salt and then rimming a glass before sipping on your margarita. PERFECTION.

Step 4: Top with a splash of sparkling water in each glass and garnish each Pineapple Margarita with a slice of lime or a pineapple wedge.

Tips & Tricks

Please feel free to buy freshly pressed pineapple juice from the market! You do NOT have to juice it yourself. If you do though, I find the best way is to cut the pineapple into large chunks and blend it in a high powered blender. Once it's blended, you can strain out any chunks and use as needed! You can also freeze any extra!

FAQs

Can you batch margaritas ahead of time?

They can absolutely be made ahead of time!! Just add the sparkling water right before serving.

Why do margaritas have triple sec?

The primary reason for using triple sec in a margarita is to balance the tartness of the lime juice and the strength of the tequila. The combination of tequila and lime juice can be quite potent and tangy, and the addition of triple sec helps to mellow out the acidity and bring a touch of sweetness to the drink. The orange flavor also complements the citrus notes from the lime, creating a more well-rounded and enjoyable flavor profile.

What is a traditional margarita made of?

A traditional margarita is made of three main ingredients: tequila, triple sec (or another orange liqueur), and freshly squeezed lime juice. It is usually served over ice in a salt-rimmed glass. Perfection in a glass!
