Summertime in my book means Strawberry Jalapeño Margaritas.

Strawberry Jalapeño Margaritas

It’s pretty much a rule when the weather hits 75+ degrees. I’m bringing back one of my favorite recipes because it deserves to be front and center this weekend! We served a version of these at our wedding (I can’t believe that was almost 2 years ago) and they were a huge hit!! They are equal parts sweet with the berries and spicy from the peppers. It’s a match made in summertime heaven!

Strawberry Jalapeño Margaritas

Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita

Gaby Dalkin
Servings 2 margaritas

Ingredients

  • 12 strawberries green tops removed
  • 1 thinly sliced ring of jalapeno pepper about 1/2 inch thick
  • 2 limes juiced
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar
  • 4 ounces silver/blanco tequila

Instructions

  • Combine the strawberries and jalapeño pepper in a small blender and blend until smooth. Pour the contents of the blender in a shaker.
  • Add the lime juice, agave nectar and tequila and a handful of ice. Secure the lid on the shaker and shake for 30-60 seconds to mix and chill the margarita.
  • Strain the juice out and serve over ice.

Notes

Instead of lining these margaritas with a salt rim, try combining equal parts salt and sugar for a sweet and salty rim! It's the best!

The farmers market is my happy place, filling my basket with fresh produce. I take my entire family because I think it’s important for the kids to shop with us, but there are days where their insistence on looking for certain items out of order drives me nuts, too. I love that you have farmers market cocktails when your husband does make it out, and margaritas at that.

    • Gaby

I hear ya!! I will totally bring my kids one day too – it’s great for them to learn about food that way!

  7. Caroline @ Pink Basil

ooooo yes! For some reason, I only like jalapeno in margaritas, every other drink I’ve tried has never worked for me. Strawberry + jalapeno sounds awesome 🙂

    • Gaby

I like anything as long as the word margarita comes after it 🙂

I just don’t know what to think 🙂 I love jalapenos and I love margaritas, but together??? !

If it weren’t for the fact that my veins don’t have tastebuds (an image that I am sufficiently creeped out just picturing, by the way…), I’m pretty sure an IV drip would be the way to go with this bad boy. Thanks so much for joining our little potluck, Gaby! Humbled and supes haps (sorry…) to have you around. 🙂

I mean, yeah — just all the things, plug ’em right in. Humbled and supes haps (sorry) to have you hanging out with us for #SoLetsPigOut, Gaby! I await the day when real life hang time can happen. Until then — cheers! <3 xo – Em
